How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking 3–6 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date for portraits. Better safe than sorry!
When is the best time to book my maternity session?
The best time to book your maternity session is during your second trimester (around 20–28 weeks). This gives you the best chance of securing a date and allows plenty of time to plan your session, choose wardrobe options and discuss the style you'd love.
Your photographs are usually taken between 28 and 34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round but you're still comfortable enough to move and enjoy the experience.
If you're expecting twins or have a high-risk pregnancy, we may recommend photographing a little earlier.
When should I book my newborn session?
It's best to book your newborn session while you're still pregnant, ideally after your 20-week scan. Your due date is reserved in my calendar, and once your baby arrives, we'll confirm the exact session date.
Newborn portraits are usually photographed within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are naturally sleepy and still love to curl into those beautiful newborn poses.
How long will I have to wait for my newborn gallery?
I have a 7-day turnaround time for newborn sessions, so you can still share those sweet newborn moments.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions take place in my home studio in Saldanha.
How long does a session last?
Most portrait sessions last 1-2 hours, depending on the package and number of people. Newborn sessions may last 2-3 hours, depending on the baby.
Can I upgrade my session on the day of the shoot?
Yes, you can, but please let me know before we start. Planning, setup and shooting for a 15 image gallery is different than for a 5 image gallery.
Can you do my hair and makeup?
Hair and makeup is not my area of expertise. For glamour sessions I can recommend local makeup artists and hair stylists. Ask me about it when you book.
Do you edit all the images?
I pick the best images from your shoot for your gallery. Bloopers, blinks and duplicates do not make the final cut. Quality over quantity, always.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes! You’re welcome to bring one support person - a friend, parent, or partner - especially if it helps you feel more relaxed in front of the camera.
Can I order prints or albums?
Absolutely. Talk to me about best quality prints and/or album quotes. Albums are great keepsakes and fantastic gifts, eg for grandparents or an anniversary.
What should we wear?
Once you’ve booked, I’ll send you a detailed prep guide with wardrobe tips, colour palettes, and outfit inspiration. Soft tones, classic silhouettes, and textured fabrics always photograph beautifully in my style.
Can I buy a session as a gift?
Yes! You can purchase a voucher, they make fantastic gifts for a kitchen tea, baby shower, grandma or just about anybody.
What if I want more images than my package includes?
No problem! You have the option to upgrade your gallery.
Can I post my photos on social media?
Yes, and I’d love that! Just please don’t crop or apply filters to the images. I include web-optimized and watermarked files in your gallery that are perfect for sharing.
What if I’m running late for my session?
Life happens, but please try to arrive on time. And send me a WhatsApp to keep me update please. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may reduce your session time.
Do you work with kids who don’t like photos?
Yes! And grown-ups too! Sessions are relaxed and guided, with plenty of time for breaks and a few tricks to get natural expressions.
Do you speak Afrikaans?

Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A 50% payment is required to secure your session date. The balance is due on or before the day of your shoot.
Do you have a client closet?
Yes, and I'm so glad you ask! A selection of formal dresses is available to rent for special events. As a photo client, you'll get exclusive access to these dresses to wear during your shoot - at no extra cost. Ask me about sizes and availability when you book.
When will I receive my photos?
You’ll receive a lightly edited, watermarked proof gallery of the best images from the session to choose from within 7 working days. You have 48 hours to select your images (according to your package). This is the time to indicate if you want to purchase additional images. Your final gallery will be delivered within 2–3 weeks of selection.
Can I buy any RAW or unedited photos from my session?
I don’t provide RAW or unedited images, as they’re not a true reflection of my work. Each final image is carefully selected and hand-edited to match the fine art style you see in my portfolio. The editing process is a big part of the final result. You're always welcome to purchase additional fully edited images if you'd like more than what’s included in your package!
